If you are living in Toronto or thinking of moving to this city, there is good news. Because it is the largest city in Canada as well as the nerve centre of much of the country's economy, there is a lot of money going around. That means there are a lot of jobs to be had too, despite the recent economic downturn experienced by the whole continent. Saying there are plenty of jobs is one thing, but if you don't know where to look for them you might as well be trapped behind Nema enclosures! Let's take a look at where you can find the right Toronto job for you.

The first place to look, and the easiest for almost everyone, is the internet. In fact, we think you will probably use the Internet for most of the options we list below too, but in this paragraph we are only going to talk about job sites specifically set up for net job searches. Those sites are pretty famous, of course. There are the big ones like Monster, Workopolis, and Kijiji. There are also smaller sites that offer a few more listings like Job Shark. All of these are great for finding a wide range of jobs from work with catering companies in Toronto to high end executive type positions.

The next place to check are the good old fashioned classified advertisements in one of the papers that circulate through the city. Some of these job listings will make you want to go at the paper with a metal shear; some are dead ends, and some of them are even scams. But every once in a while a few jobs appear that are really worth pursuing.

Toronto is a big enough to support a wide variety of activities that you might not find in smaller places, even when it comes to job hunting. One of the most unusual things we came across while doing research for this article were the handful of job finding clubs that popped up on our main search. Apparently, there is one in Scarborough, one on Yonge, and one in North York. You might have to use the Toronto taxi service to get to them, but they offer a unique chance to find jobs through networking, and that is one of the most solid search methods of all.

And of course you can always check what kind of city operated resources there are for people looking for jobs in Toronto. The city website will have a list of open municipal jobs, looking after the airport WiFi at Lester B Pearson and so on. There are also job banks and job training centres operated through municipal tax contributions.
